There are many ways to learn mindfulness however the 8 week format is the most effective evidence based approach. The guided weekly sessions enable you to practice regularly and share your experiences of mindfulness with others under the expert guidance of mindfulness tutor Holly Smith.
THE COURSE
The 8 Week MBLC is based on the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme, originally developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn in the early 1980s and the related Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) programme developed in the mid-1990s. However the Mindfulness Association MBLC programme is unique in the way that it builds on these clinical models by including kindness and compassion which are essential to developing a deep and effective meditation practice.
HOW IT WORKS
Through guided mindfulness meditation practices we:
✾ Explore using the body, breath and sound as a way to focus our attention on the present moment and calm the mind
✾ Learn how to observe our thought patterns and behaviours getting to know ourselves better
✾ Cultivate a deep sense of kindness and acceptance to whatever our experience is
✾ Transfer our mindful meditation practices into our daily routine to enable us to lead more relaxed, fulfilled and happier lives
